PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion device having a small number of components, a simple structure, high strength, and excellent durability. SOLUTION: This expansion device includes: a first extension member 1; a second extension member 2 extending in the same direction as the first extension member 1; a moving body 11 arranged between the first extension member 1 and the second extension member 2 and relatively moving in a longitudinal direction where the first and second extension members extend; a plurality of rolling elements 15 arranged between the first extension member 1, the second extension member 2, and the moving body 11; first load rolling element rolling contact passages 26, 37 formed by the first load rolling element rolling contact surfaces 12a, 12d of the moving body 11 and the rolling element rolling contact surfaces 1a, 1b of the first extension member 1; second load rolling element rolling contact passage 27, 36 formed by the second load rolling element rolling contact surfaces 12b, 12c of the moving body 11 and the rolling element rolling contact surfaces 2a, 2b of the second extension member; and rolling element direction changing passages 46, 47, 56, 57 formed at both ends of the moving body 11 and connecting the first and second load rolling element rolling contact surfaces.
