A laser light source (100) is provided with a semiconductor laser (101); a wavelength converting element (104) composed of nonlinear optical crystal which converts excitation light from the semiconductor laser (101) into wavelength converted light having a different wavelength; a photodiode (109) which measures a part of the wavelength converted light outputted from the wavelength converting element (104) as output light; a photodiode (110) which measures excitation light outputted from the wavelength converting element (104); and a control circuit (103). The control circuit (103) performs output fixing control for fixing intensity of the wavelength converted light by using a current drive circuit (102), and temperature control for adjusting temperature of the wavelength converting element (104) by using a heater (105), at the same time.
