A molding material for building decoration and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to ensure a simple structure consisting of an EPS(Expandable Polystyrene) molding material and a ceramic coating layer and to improve the surface strength by forming the ceramic coating layer thick. A method for manufacturing a molding material for building decoration comprises a step of forming a ceramic coating layer(2) on the surface of a foam polystyrene molding material(1) by extruding ceramic coating composition on the surface of the foam polystyrene molding material, a step of curing the extruded material first using hot air of 25~45°C for 30 minutes to 2 hours, and a step of curing it secondly at the normal temperature for 24 minutes to 48 hours.
