<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of preventing the occurrence of ruggedness on a reflective film while maintaining a scattering and reflecting function, thereby obtaining satisfactory display characteristics, and to provide an electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a pair of substrates opposing to each other; a liquid crystal layer 70 held between the pair of opposing substrates; a reflective film 30 provided between one of the pair of substrates and the liquid crystal layer 70; and a scattering layer 40 made of a liquid crystal polymer and provided between the reflective film 30 and the other substrate of the pair of substrates. The scattering layer 40 includes a plurality of liquid crystal domains inside the layer, the domains comprising a locally aligned liquid crystal material which is a constituent material of the liquid crystal polymer; and the liquid crystal polymer is formed by polymerizing the liquid crystal material holding the plurality of liquid crystal domains. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
