PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil that can be used as a lubricating oil at room temperature and has high oxidation stability, and to provide a method for producing the lubricating oil. SOLUTION: A hydrogenated oil of rape seed oil is disclosed, which has a content of stearic acid of≤4 mass% and a content of di-unsaturated fatty acids having 18 carbon atoms of≤4 mass% in the entire constituent fatty acids. A method for producing the hydrogenated oil having a content of stearic acid of≤4 mass% and a content of di-unsaturated fatty acids having 18 carbon atoms of≤4 mass% in the entire constituent fatty acids is disclosed, including hydrogenating rape seed oil under the condition of the hydrogen pressure of from 0.005 to 0.04 MPa.
