<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering dimethyl 6,6'-(ethylenedioxy)di-2-naphthoate and a purified dimethyl aromatic dicarboxylate from an aromatic polyester resin waste product having 6,6'-(ethylenedioxy)di-2-naphthoic acid component. <P>SOLUTION: This method for recovering valuable substances from the waste product of an aromatic polyester resin comprising 100 to 1 mol% of 6,6'-(ethylenedioxy)di-2-naphthoic acid component and 0 to 99 mol% of a benzene dicarboxylic acid or naphthalene dicarboxylic acid component and an alkylene glycol component is characterized by sequentially passing through the following process (a) to (d) to recover purified dimethyl 6,6'-(ethylenedioxy)di-2-naphthoate and a purified dimethyl aromatic dicarboxylate. (a) A process for depolymerizing the polyester waste product with an alkylene glycol, (b) a process for subjecting the obtained depolymerization product to an ester exchange reaction using methanol, (c) a process for crystallizing the obtained mixture to separate the crystal component, and (d) a process for distillation-purifying the crystal component to recover the purified dimethyl 6,6'-(ethylenedioxy)di-2-naphthoate and the purified dimethyl aromatic dicarboxylate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
