摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing apparatus enabling to detect cutting force with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The processing apparatus 1 comprises a tool 2 having a cutting edge 12, an actuator 3 for giving slight vibration to the tool 2, a casing 4 storing the actuator 3, a preload mechanism 5 arranged in the casing 4 for giving preload to the actuator 3, a force sensor 6 arranged between the cutting edge 12 and the preload mechanism 5, and a detecting means (a computer 19) for detecting the cutting force of a processing part 1 in accordance with the output of the force sensor 6. The force sensor 6 detects a force component only based on the inertia mass of the tool 2. Thus, the output of the force sensor 6 to be detected during non-processing can be reduced to increase a difference from the output of the force sensor 6 to be detected during processing, resulting in greatly improved detecting accuracy of the cutting force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
