<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new illumination technique having both of the function as illumination and as information-providing function of an information display device. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminator A and an information supply device B are connected to each other via a cable C. The illuminator A includes a light source 1, an image modulation device 2 for modulating a light from the light source, a projection part 3 projecting the light modulated by the image modulation device 2, a driving means 4 for driving the image modulation device 2, and an image information holding means 5 for providing image information for the driving means 4.
