PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer constituted so that residual amounts of a plurality of printing agents are detected, an ordinary printing mode and a printing agent adjusting mode are made selectable, and the selected printing agent is adjusted in accordance with the residual amount so that the plurality of selected printing agents may end nearly simultaneously when the printing agent adjusting mode is selected, whereby variance in the residual amount of each printing agent is suppressed, the number of supplying times of the printing agent is reduced and an excellent printing result is obtained. SOLUTION: The printer includes: a residual amount detection part to detect the residual amounts of the plurality of printing agents; a printing mode selection part to select the ordinary printing mode and the printing agent adjusting mode; a printing agent selection part to select the printing agent to be adjusted in the printing adjusting mode; and a printing agent control part to adjust the plurality of printing agents selected by the printing agent selection part in accordance with the residual amount and control so that the plurality of printing agents selected by the printing agent selection part may end simultaneously when the printing agent adjusting mode is selected by the printing mode selection part.
