PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding device for making a rotating and reciprocating grinder abut on the upper and lower sides of a glass ribbon being carried to grind the glass ribbon at both sides at the same time while preventing the occurrence of circular grinding irregularity along the outer periphery of the grinder. SOLUTION: In an upstream region of the grinding device in duplex-type ground glass sheet manufacturing facilities, the grinder is provided on the grinding surface of which a protruded grinding site 13A is formed in a circular shape using the center of the grinder as a circle core with a cutout portion 14.
