PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental coating material intended for solving such problems that recently CO<SB>2</SB>countermeasures and countermeasures which contributes to global warming protection, regional environment improvement and beautification are widely performed by administration through growing garden plants, agricultural crops, and trees and plants on the inside or rooftop of a building, but the countermeasures have such defects that plant roots widely grow on the surface and inner surface of a building to erode construction materials, and when plant roots grow to an unnecessary area, beautiful sight is remarkably damaged. SOLUTION: This environmental coating material is obtained by mixing a copper compound, titanium oxide, carbon nano-tube, and fullerene. The coating material is applied to a wall and a floor part so as to control growth of roots, and control root parts without damaging growth of plant flowers and grass. As a result, it is possible to suppress surplus root stretch, prevent erosion into a building, and reduce an amount used for agricultural chemicals owing to fungicidal action.
