PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a wheel for improving work efficiency by reducing press-in force, while improving airtightness of a pilot part by preventing the occurrence of a press-in flaw and a galling when a cap is pressed in. SOLUTION: This bearing device for the wheel is provided for blocking up an opening part of a wheel pilot part 11 by pressing the steel plate cap in a fitting surface 12, by forming the cylindrical fitting surface 12 on an inner peripheral surface of the wheel pilot part 11. The fitting surface 12 is formed by grinding work. The cap 13 is formed in a cup shape composed of a fitting part 13a pressed in the fitting surface 12 via a predetermined interference, a superposing part 13b extending outside in the radial direction from this fitting part 13a and a bottom part 13c continuously formed in the superposing part 13b. A chamfering part 14 being a guide surface when the cap 13 is pressed in, is formed on the end part inner periphery of the wheel pilot part 11, and this guide width B is set to at least 1 mm.
