PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule locking structure that allows post-installation of a ferrule. SOLUTION: When post-installation of a ferrule 34 is performed by moving the ferrule 34 at the terminal of optical fibers 35, 35 in the optical axis direction relative to a light receiving/emitting part 33 which is fixedly connected to a circuit substrate, the groove part 44 of the ferrule 34 is inserted into a projecting plate 46 of a shield case 36. Then, when the locking projection 45 of the groove part 44 and the locking part 53 of the projecting plate 46 are engaged with each other to form a locked state, the optical fiber fixing sections 37, 37 of the ferrule 34 concurrently engages with the FOT case, with the optical coupling completed thereby.
