PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling unit having not only high interest but also high educational properties; and a toy having the traveling unit. SOLUTION: This traveling unit as a moving body is so formed that both the poles of a spherical body are rotatably journaled to both opposite positions of a frame surrounding the circumference of the spherical body, and the outer circumferential face of the frame is formed with a first connecting portion and a second connecting portion facing relatively outward respectively at other both opposite positions separated 90°from the journal support positions.
