PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately detect boiling while securing mountability of a lid body to/from a main body in an electric kettle. SOLUTION: The temperature of a steam hole 3a formed on the lid body 3 of the electric kettle 1 is detected by a lid body side thermistor 8. The lid body side thermistor 8 is energized by a feed coil pair 13 including a primary side feed coil 11 and a secondary side feed coil 12. A signal generation circuit 19 generates state signals according to the resistance change of the lid body side thermistor 8 by the temperature change of the steam hole 3a. The state signals are transmitted to the side of the main body 2 without contact by a signal transmission element pair including a primary side detection coil 21 and a secondary side detection coil 22 and inputted to a microcomputer 9.
