PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the program capacity while securing safety in the action of a watchdog timer (WDT). SOLUTION: A game machine is provided with a WDT control circuit 154 for detecting abnormality in a CPU 102 of the main control board. The WDT control circuit 154 starts to reset the CPU 102 when a reference time passes with an initialization register 157 left unloaded into it. The initialization register 157 is provided with three registers 157a-157c and when optional values are loaded into all of the registers, the counting of time of the WDT is reset. Thus, the combination with a plurality of initialization registers enables the stabilization of the action of the WDT and this allows the loading of the optional values, instead of fixed values, to simplify the processing in the loading.
