The assembly has an electronic printed circuit board (300) with a group of electronic contact pins (310), and a housing (100) comprising recesses at two outer walls (101) that are adjacent to each other. The recesses together form a brace-like hole at the housing. A connector cage (200) is laterally inserted into the hole. The connector cage has a side wall that forms a part of one of the outer walls of the housing at a position of one of the recesses after the insertion of the cage into the hole. The cage has an opening arranged at another position of another recess. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for assembling an electronic assembly (2) a method for manufacturing a housing and a connector cage of an electronic assembly.
