An image forming apparatus having a DADF function and a control method thereof are provided to re-scan manuscripts in high speed and minimize the image quality from being degraded when the memory full phenomenon is generated. A main control unit displays a re-scanning mode setup screen to set up a mode(S605), controls a DADF unit so as to scan one side of a manuscript through a simplex path(S615), processes one side of the manuscript by using a duplex path so as to re-scan the one side(S625), and then determines when the next manuscript exists in a tray(S635).
