PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus, a reproduction apparatus, a recording method, a reproduction method, and a program to retain magnification information regarding digital zoom manipulation during recording of an image, to prevent deterioration in image quality of recorded images, and to reproduce high-quality images with digital zoom. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus includes an image processor for processing RAW image data, sequentially output from an imaging element by each frame, into reproducible image data and generating processed image data for each frame, a magnification information obtaining unit for obtaining magnification information, which is information regarding magnification processes performed during the image processes of the RAW image data into the reproducible image data, and a medium recorder sequentially recording the RAW image data by each frame, the processed image data for each frame, and the magnification information for each frame to a storage medium by each frame.
