PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can visually recognize the minute displacement of an original and can correct the displacement. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises a means for correcting the displacement of image data by coordinate transformation, and a means for altering one unit of coordinate transformation according to the rate of the magnification of a display. In the case of a preview with a high rate of magnification, movement on a preview screen becomes large even for the same coordinate transformation and thereby it is difficult to correct the minute displacement. In the inventive image forming apparatus, one unit of the corrective movement of image data is decreased when the rate of magnification is increased. Consequently, the minute displacement can be corrected precisely. In particular, the alteration means can alter one unit of coordinate transformation in reverse proportion to the rate of the magnification of a display. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
