PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external resonator type wavelength variable laser device having excellent stability in laser oscillation mode. SOLUTION: The external resonator type wavelength variable laser device includes: an optical amplifier 2 for amplifying a laser beam; a wavelength controller 8 for controlling the wavelength of the laser beam by a liquid crystal driven by an alternating current voltage; and a phase adjustor 3 for adjusting the phase of the laser beam by changing a refractive index based on a modulation signal.
