PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a (co)polymer which can allow a rubber composition to have increased tanδwhen added to the rubber composition while ensuring the destruction resistance of the rubber composition and to provide the rubber composition using the (co)polymer. SOLUTION: The (co)polymer is obtained by (co)polymerizing one or more alkylacrylates comprising tert-butyl acrylate at the least and has 2×10<SP>3</SP>to 50×10<SP>3</SP>weight-average molecular weight in terms of polystyrene. The rubber composition is obtained by blending 5-150 parts mass (co)polymer with 100 parts mass rubber component consisting of diene rubber.
