METHOD FOR DISTANCE ESTIMATION AND APPARATUS FOR THE SAME

A method for distance estimation and an apparatus for the same are provided to increase the accuracy and reliability of an object by estimating the distance of the object through a perspective method under though surrounding. In a method for distance estimation and an apparatus for the same, an image is taken by using at lest more than one stereo vision set(S600). A reference image and a time difference of each stereo vision set are produced(S610). The object of a common view filed is extracted from each stereo vision set by using the outputted reference image(S620). The time difference of the object is calculated by comparing the time difference of the objected extracted from the common view field. The distance of object is estimated by using the estimation time difference(S630).
