A method for preparing the sprouted unpolished rice, the sprouted unpolished rice prepared by the method, a culture medium for the sprouted unpolished rice, and a pharmaceutical composition containing the sprouted unpolished rice are provided to prevent or treat the hypertension of mammals. A method for preparing the sprouted unpolished rice comprises the step of sprouting the unpolished rice in the culture medium containing at least one elicitor selected from the group consisting of sodium chloride and chitosan. Preferably the elicitor is 0.01-0.25 wt% sodium chloride solution, or a mixture comprising 0.01-0.25 wt% sodium chloride and 0.01-0.25 wt% of chitosan solution. |
