An English keyboard for a mobile apparatus which is easily aware of the location of each alphabetic character to a user is provided to assign various characters and symbols to a restricted key concisely inputted without a change mode including English and symbol. A combination of five alphabetic letters of symbols is arranged in a keypad of a terminal. The arranged character is selected through the key selecting the up, middle, down, left, and right. A numeric key is pressed by a user for initial selection. The user presses a 5 direction selecting key around 5 number key. The user selectively inputs character through the combination of 5 directional selection key and numeric key.
