PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric insulating wire wherein a self-fusing layer or a coat protecting layer which may have self-slipping property, on the outer layer of an insulating coat, has improved corona resistance without impairing flexibility as the basic property of winding, and improved heat resistance at a high temperature while protecting the coat against damage. SOLUTION: In the corona resistant electric insulating wire, the insulating coat 2 is applied to a conductor and the self-fusing layer 3 or the coat protecting layer 3 which may have self-slipping property is applied to the outer layer of the insulating coat 2. The self-fusing layer 3 or the coat protecting layer 3 is formed of electric insulating paint for which one or two or more types of thermoplastic resins or thermoset resins, or such a resin composition that additive such as cross-linking agent is added to the thermoplastic resins or the thermoset resins, are dissolved in organic solvent, and to which a 5-50 pts.wt inorganic compound such as silicon dioxide having particle sizes of 20μm or smaller is added in terms of the 100 pts.wt resins or resin components in the resin composition.
