PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hydrogenation of diene-based polymers. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a process for the selective hydrogenation of the carbon-carbon double bonds in diene-based polymers in bulk form by treatment of the polymer with hydrogen in the presence of a platinum group metal-containing catalyst and in the absence of any organic solvent.
