PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translation support system for facilitating confirmation and reediting of an effective translation by enhancing the reusability of a component characteristic string to be collected in the process of creating a translation in workflow in which "a plurality of character strings to be a component are combined to create a translation".

SOLUTION: An editing means 201 displays an original text display field for displaying original text, a translation display field for inputting and displaying a translation, and a component display field for inputting and displaying a component characteristic string. A component registering means 203 makes a component storing means 303 store a partial characteristic string as a component characteristic string and also makes the component storing means 303 store component information of the component characteristic string held by a translation system when the partial characteristic string of a translation result created by the translation system is copied or the like in the component display field. In addition, a component control means 203 displays component information of the displayed component characteristic string.
