<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method, an input system in which operation timing is intuitive, and a timing indication method. <P>SOLUTION: An exercise support system displays on a video monitor 100 virtual space containing a response object 106 corresponding to a foot switch SW1 and a ball object 120 which moves toward it as well as a response object 102 corresponding to a footstep 11 and a ball object 128 which moves toward it and decides whether a timing with which the ball object 120 reaches the response object 106, and a timing with which the foot switch SW1 is stepped on coincide and whether a timing with which the ball object 128 reaches the response object 102, and a timing with which the footstep 11 is stepped on coincide.
