<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure inflation property of a side airbag bag body by inhibiting the influence of a seat belt, even if the seal belt exists in the inflation direction of the side airbag body. <P>SOLUTION: The side airbag device includes a guiding cloth 16 (an inflation guiding means) disposed on the side end portion 24 of the seat back 22 in a vehicle seat 18 and intervened between the seat belt 38 passing over the inflation region of the side airbag body 14 and the side airbag body 14 when the airbag body 14 is inflated. Upon occurrence of a side collision, an inflator 12 is operated to supply gas into the side airbag body 14, causing the side airbag body 14 to be inflated in a predetermined direction. If the seat belt 38 passes over the inflation region of the side airbag body 14, the guiding cloth 16 is intervened between the seat belt 38 and the side airbag body 14 to push aside the seat belt 38. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
