PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material which, even when a coupler compound is used, reduces silver tone change and fog rise over time before heat development, also reduces silver tone change and fog rise over time after heat development, and avoids scratching and contamination in a heat developing apparatus in heat development. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has a photosensitive layer containing silver halide grains, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent, a coupler compound and a binder and a non-photosensitive layer laid on the photosensitive layer on one side of a support, and also has a back coat layer on the other side of the support, wherein the back coat layer contains a matting agent A having an average particle diameter of 14-30μm.
