<p>A receiving portion (2) for receiving a turbid medium (1) during examination in a device for imaging the interior of turbid media is provided. The receiving portion (2) encloses a receiving volume in which the turbid medium (1) is placed for examination. The receiving volume has a boundary formed by an inner surface facing the turbid medium. The inner surface is lined with an acoustically absorbing material (7) which is optically translucent for light having a wavelength in the range from 400 nm to 1400 nm, or at least between 650 nm and 950 nm.</p>
