Provided are a plane coil capable of reducing an eddy current generated between the adjoining electric portions of an electric wire, thereby to prevent a surrounding electric part from being adversely effected by the heat generated, and a non-contact power transmission device using the plane coil. The plane coil (1) is constituted of a helical electric wire (7) coated with an extremely thin insulating coating, and the radially adjoining portions of the electric wire (7) are so spaced at a predetermined distance as to suppress the eddy current. The plane coil (1) is appropriately used as the power transmitting coil or the power receiving coil of the non-contact power transmission device.
