A system for realizing a moving picture content based UI and a method for operating the same are provided to enable a user to access a downloaded moving picture conveniently. An IP broadcasting server creates and stores metadata(S71), and a user selects a certain moving picture from a displayed electronic program guide and requests the reproduction(S72,S73). A set-top box requests the download of the correspondent moving picture from the IP broadcasting server(S74). The IP broadcasting server downloads the correspondent moving picture based metadata by searching the correspondent moving picture(S75,S76).
