PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Q-switched laser oscillator which prevents deterioration in the output of a laser beam fue to suspended contaminants, or the like, and facilitating maintenance and positional adjustment of a Q-switch device. SOLUTION: A Q-switch CO<SB>2</SB>laser oscillator 1 is provided with a discharge chamber 2 filled with a laser gas G, a rear mirror 4 and an output mirror 3 constituting a resonator, and a Q switch device 5 intermittently oscillating a laser beam. The Q switch device 5 is provided with a housing 11 with the inside kept in a clean state, a rotating chopper 12 arranged in the housing, a moving means 14 moving the housing, and a laser beam transmitting member 15 arranged in the housing and transmitting the laser beam. A slit for the rotating chopper can be adjusted to a position passing through a focus part of the laser beam, by moving the housing by the moving means, with the degradation in the output of the laser beam by suspended contaminants, or the like, being prevented; and the maintenance and positional adjustment of the Q-switch device can be carried out readily.
