PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature sensor and a measuring method of temperature which enable accurate measurements at a high response speed. SOLUTION: The temperature sensor measures temperature, according to the lifetime of fluorescence generated in a fluorescent material 21 and is equipped with a light source 12 emitting excitation light, with the fluorescent material 21 generating the fluorescence by the excitation light; a light receiving element 13 detecting the fluorescence and outputting a fluorescence signal according to the intensity of the fluorescence; and a signal processing circuit 14 calculating the temperature, based on the fluorescence signal from the light receiving element 13. The signal processing circuit 14 calculates the respective integrated values of the fluorescence signals in periods A-C having the same time width; calculates the difference value, on the basis of the integrated values in two periods; calculates a variable which varies according to the measured temperature from the ratio between two difference values and converts the calculated variable into the temperature, referring to the relation between the temperature stored beforehand and the ratio of the difference values.
