PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel load measuring method and a wheel load measuring device which are hardly influenced by a measuring worker, measuring environment and the like, and which are capable of obtaining measured wheel load values with smaller measuring errors, and furthermore not requiring a displacement measuring means when a wheel is lifted and the wheel load of the wheel is measured. SOLUTION: While lowering a wheel which was lifted by a hydraulic jack 4 by decompressing the hydraulic jack 4, the oil pressure of the hydraulic jack which is detected by an oil pressure sensor 5 is measured at a constant time interval according to the elapsed time using a computing device 7. The wheel load is computed based on the oil pressure at a changing point where the changing rate of the oil pressure is maximum so that the error of the wheel load measurement values due to change in the measuring worker and measuring environment becomes smaller to measure the wheel load at high precision. Further, the oil pressure of the hydraulic jack 4 is allowed to measure according to the elapsed time so that a displacement measuring means is not necessary to reduce number of the parts of the device.
