PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact inline heater capable of rapidly generating heat, and satisfying requests for energy saving and cleaning. SOLUTION: This inline heater is provided with a pipe 1 and a heating element 2, and heating a heat medium flowing through the pipe 1 by the heating element 2. The heating element 2 and the pipe 1 are buried in a metal block 3, the heating element 2 has a rod-like shape, and the pipe 1 is spirally arranged along the outer periphery of the rod-like heating element 2.
