PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a semiconductor integrated circuit which can surely contact an IC terminal and a contactor of the socket and reduce a signal loss. SOLUTION: This socket includes a plurality of connection pins 11 to be in electrical contact with the IC terminal; a metal body 12 wherein each through-hole whose inner surface is coated with an insulating layer, which is a through-hole through which each connection pin 11 is to be inserted, is bored; a metal holding plate 13 arranged over the body 12 through an elastic member, wherein each through-hole through which each connection pin 11 is to be inserted is bored; a printed board 14 arranged on the bottom surface of the body 12, and having a land to be in electrical contact with a connection pin 11 to be in contact with a terminal other than an IC earth terminal; and an earth substrate 15 arranged between the body 12 and the printed board 14, and coated with a conductor plate to be in electrical contact with the connection pin 11 to be in contact with the IC earth terminal and with the bottom surface of the metal body 12, wherein each through-hole through which each connection pin 11 to be in contact with the printed board 14 is to be inserted is bored.
