A controller of electric compressor which can start an electric compressor smoothly and surely even under high temperature. A start control method of electric compressor is also provided. Even under a state where the temperature of a power transistor is high, an electric compressor is started gradually by setting the number of revolutions or the acceleration rate of the motor depending on the temperature. After starting the electric compressor, temperature of the power transistor is rechecked every predetermined time and the number of revolutions or the acceleration rate of the motor is updated and then the number of revolutions or the acceleration rate of the motor is raised depending on the temperature of the power transistor thus achieving quick start. When the electric compressor is started and refrigerant begins to flow in the housing of the electric compressor, a control board is cooled and the temperature of the power transistor drops and thereby multiplication effect is attained.
