The profile (10) has a conductor (14) i.e. condenser electrode, and another conductor (16) i.e. sign electrode, running parallel to longitudinal direction of the profile and spaced from each other. A set of third conductors (36a-36c) are positioned in detection direction of the conductor (14). The conductors (36a-36c) are arranged distributedly and directly on a detection surface (24) of the conductor (14). The conductors (36a-36c) are formed using a wire strand (22) embedded into the profile. A cavity (12) is formed between the conductors (14, 16). An independent claim is also included for a sensor for detection of articles comprising a profile.
