SURFACE LIGHT SOURCE AND BACKLIGHT UNIT HAVING THE SAME

A surface light source and a backlight unit having the same are provided to shorten the initial lighting time by forming an auxiliary electrode in a surface discharge type electrode. The light source body comprises the first substrate(120) and the second substrate(130). A plurality of first main electrodes(200) is formed in the surface of the second substrate. The first sub electrode(210) is arranged in one side of the first main electrode. A plurality of second main electrodes(300) is corresponded to the other side edge of the discharge channel(140) and is parallelly formed with the first main electrode. The second sub electrode(310) is arranged in one side of the second main electrode and is arranged to face the first sub electrode.
