<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which has a small number of components, has a simple structure, is manufactured easily, and surely offers a high shield effect even if a contact module is miniaturized. <P>SOLUTION: The connector 130 includes a plurality of contact modules 131 and 132 having a plurality of contacts 165A to F. The contact modules have cramping plates 133, 134, and 138. Conductive layers and insulating portions are formed on opposed faces of cramping plates that are adjacent to each other. Contacts are cramped between conductive layers and between insulating portions of cramping plates that are adjacent to each other.
