PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high picture quality in an information recording and reproduction device to conduct the recording and/or reproduction of information with respect to a plurality of recording media, and to suppress a temperature rise in the device by efficiently discharging heat generated in the device to the outside. SOLUTION: The information recording and reproduction device is equipped with: a casing 4; an optical disk 2 contained in the casing 4; an HDD 3 contained in the casing 4; a disk motor 21 provided in the casing 4 and rotating the optical disk 2 mounted thereon; a temperature sensor 25 provided in the casing 4; a temperature comparing means to compare the temperature measured by the temperature sensor 25 with a predetermined temperature in the recording and/reproduction of the information on/from the HDD 3; and a rotation control means to drive the disk motor 21 in the case that the temperature measured by the temperature comparing means becomes higher than the predetermined temperature.
