PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module cleaning implement whose body part is hard to bend, having no resin binder substantially remaining at a tip part and capable of cleaning an optical glass surface of an optical module. SOLUTION: The optical module cleaning implement 10 is provided with the body part 1 of approximately column shape and the tip part 2 of approximately truncated cone shape. The body part 1 is formed by bundling several hundreds to several tens of thousands of synthetic resin filaments with a single yarn fineness of 0.01-11 dtex and compacted in a radial direction. The filaments are joined almost uniformly in a radial direction by a resin binder. A tip part 2 is also formed by bundling synthetic resin filaments with a single yarn fineness of 0.01-11 dtex and compacted in a radial direction, but substantially not joined by the resin binder. Consequently, the filaments come apart by pressing the tip part 2 to a cleaning surface. Cleanability is thereby excellent. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
