PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely connect a branch pipe with a main pipe, prevent a local bending stress from being applied on the main pipe to avoid detrimental effects on the main pipe due to the local bending stress by allowing a pressing rib of a pressing sleeve strip and an outer periphery of the main pipe in face contact with each other even if the inner diameter of the branching joint and the outer diameter of the main pipe do not match and the main pipe has a low strength. SOLUTION: The branching joint comprises a semi-circular sleeve strip 2 for branching in which a branch section 4 connected with a branch pipe 3 and a semi-circular pressing sleeve strip 5 having the same diameter with the sleeve strip 2 for branching. A rib for fulcrum point contacting with the periphery of the main pipe 1 is formed in the inner periphery of the sleeve strip 2 for branching of both sides of the branch section 3. A pressing sleeve contacting with the periphery outside of the outer periphery of the main pipe 1 contacted with the rib for fulcrum point is formed in both sides inner peripheries of the pressing sleeve strip 5.
