The guiding element (1) has a light decoupling surface (2) arranged at and around a light source i.e. LED, and a display surface that is illuminated. The guiding element is segmented into coupling segments (5, 6) with a light injecting surface (7) and a decoupling segment (3) with the light decoupling surface and other coupling segment (4) that is adjacent to the former coupling elements and decoupling element. One of the coupling and decoupling segments forms a boundary surface of the latter coupling element, and is inwardly arranged against the coupling segment (5).
