The head block (50) of one color is constituted by arranging the head modules (52) at a predetermined array pitch (P) by only one column in a scan-orthogonal direction (Y) orthogonal to the scanning direction (X). The application device (1) has head block shifting means (45) for shifting the head block (50) by a predetermined quantity (P/S) in the scan-orthogonal direction (Y) each time one scan by the head block (50) is ended.</p>
