A trunks type diaper that with respect to right and left leg encircling items at the time of diaper wearing, excels in wearing comfortableness, can be easily taken off and ensures high leak prevention. In the developed state, the diaper has a first leg encircling elastic member (15a) substantially linearly disposed so as to extend from a left edge (7a1) of waist anterior area via an anterior edge of crotch part (6) to a right edge (7b1) of waist anterior area and has a second leg encircling elastic member (15b) substantially linearly disposed so as to extend from a left edge (7a2) of waist posterior area via a posterior edge of crotch part (6) to a right edge (7b2) of waist posterior area. Accordingly, in the bottom face of the diaper in the state of coupling of the left and right edges (7a1,7b1,7a2,7b2) of the waist anterior and posterior areas (2,3), the first and second leg encircling elastic members (15b) are arranged so as to be in the state of encircling left and right leg openings (5a,5b) in pairs.
