A method for media resource identifier interaction capability and the corresponding media gateway controller and media gateway provide an interactive mechanism for media resource identifier capability between the media gateway controller and the media gateway. Thus, the media resource identifier scheme respectively supported by the user and the media gateway can be exchanged between the media gateway controller and the media gateway, so as to allow media resource identifier capability negociation between the user and the media provider.
